SAT & ACT Testing Dates for SY 08-09
Students, especially seniors and juniors, don’t miss the opportunity to take these important college admissions tests. Be sure to check the test requirements of the colleges you are interested in applying to; many colleges will accept exam scores from either the SAT or the ACT. See Ms. Ascierto if you have questions (DSN# 624-3249).
SAT
The SAT Reasoning Test is one of the most widely used college admission tests. Some colleges may also require the SAT Subject Tests, or SAT II. Check the admission requirements of the individual colleges to see which exams you need to take.
Sigonella High School SAT Test dates for SY 2008-2009 are as follows:
04 October 2008 (International* Registration Deadline: 09 Sept 08/Early Registration 26 Aug 08)
01 November 2008 (International Registration Deadline: 26 Sept 08/ Early 10 Sept 08)
06 December 2008 (International Registration Deadline 05 Nov 08/Early 15 Oct 08)
02 May 2009 (International Registration Deadline 31 March 09/Early 11 March 09 )
06 June 2009 (International Registration Deadline 05 May 09/Early 15 April 09)
*Note: There is no late registration for International, but there is early registration.

DoDDS students waive the International Processing fee by registering via the above directions. The cost is $45 for the SAT I. The SAT II is $20 plus $9 for each test. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Maryellen Pienta (DSN 624-3207) or Ms. Margie Ascierto (DSN 624-4284/3249).
ACT
The ACT exam is another widely accepted college admissions test. The ACT measures the four curricular areas of English, Mathematics, Science and Reading. An optional 30 minute Writing Test is only offered on the October International Test date.

25 October 08 PLUS WRITING (Registration Deadline:19 Sept 08)
07 February 09 (Registration Deadline: 06 Jan 09)
13 June 09 (Registration Deadline: 08 May 09)
Registration for the ACT is also online at http://www.actstudent.org/
In order to receive the DoDDS waiver for the international fee, secure a voucher from Ms. Pienta to mail in after you register. The cost is $30 for the ACT, or $44.50 for the ACT Plus Writing.
Both of these exams take place on Saturdays at the high school. Doors open at 7:45 A.M. Students are directed to meet in The Point near the main office. Testing begins promptly at 8:00 A.M. No one will be admitted after that time. Students are responsible for bringing the necessary items for testing.
